When I am able to understand what I feel, the emotion comes out of the abstract (where I cannot deal with it) and enters the mind (where changes may be applied)
This theme invites children to develop a more profound understanding about feelings and emotions and offers tools and strategies to work with them in a positive and healthy way.
Activities: role play, sensory games, relaxing exercises
Children get the opportunity to:
- identify emotions, give names, description, associated behaviors and meaning
- exercise emotions acceptance and expressing them in a constructive manner
- explore techniques and strategies for emotion regulation
- develop empathy: exercise being in other person’s shoes
